Mighty is our God!

In the midst of all difficulties, He worked in tremendous and miraculous ways during John Dawson's ministry here. As the program changed totally, He opened other significant doors. We walked by faith keeping the ministry times together and ignoring the trouble with banks, food, transport, etc. To our surprise around 300 people came on the first meeting day to Jakarta, even though the city was like death and almost all people chose to stay at home due to the danger. Many were blessed by the message of reconciliation. There is no better time for Indonesia to hear this message, for such a time as this.

On the same day, there was a meeting for all Bible Schools in Jakarta and surrounding areas. John had a marvelous opportunity to share among these Bible School leaders. At night a group of people, which included about 30 local pastors in a network, cried and humbled themselves before the Lord for the nation as the message of repentance was spoken.

The second day (May 19, John & Julie's silver wedding anniversary, congratulations!) reconciliation took place between pastors and their congregations, male and female, Chinese and non-Chinese, charismatic and non-charismatic churches. Non-charismatic confessed they felt inferior particularly on the issue of baptism. They are condemned unbiblical even though they baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Yet they also confessed feelings of superiority in their theology, accusing the charismatic of focusing too much on speaking in tongue. The charismatic confessed as well. Try to imagine the reconciliation among Chinese and non-Chinese, especially during these times. There was groaning and screaming as healing came from deep, centuries old wounds. There was an atmosphere of open heavens afterwards.

By the grace of God, John had two opportunities for night radio broadcasts in the form of talk shows, which closed with intercession. The first night was one and half-hours long. The message was fabulous. Reports were received that many listeners experienced deliverance on hearing this "on time" message. Now they know what to do concerning for such a time as this. The second night was not scheduled to be a Christian program, yet the board of the radio station quickly agreed to change their program to give us the airtime of 45 minutes. Thus we may assume the listeners included non-Christians. (Please pray for TV programs to run the recording of John's interview which is on video and also the reconciliation between Chinese and non-Chinese. This should bring great impact for healing of this nation.)

The third meeting day in Jakarta, May 20, was supposed to be our National Awakening Day. It was rumored that a hundred thousand students all over Indonesia would flood Jakarta forcing Suharto to step down. The whole city filled with terrifying fears; streets were blocked.

Early in the morning we received phone calls asking if we where going to continue the meeting. Who will come? That was the resounding question. Well, we didn't care about number, we would just keep praying. But to our amazement the attendance was more than the other 2 days, more than 300 courageous people eager to pray for the nation! This day we felt was the day of impartation of the Spirit and anointing of reconciliation. As John led a long prayer, I was on the stage ready to lead other prayers. Someone whispered to me to pray for the situation outside. We didn't want more blood shed. I felt like a roaring lion at that time. After John finished, the Spirit strongly led me to declare with the people 3 times, "Today is the day of National SPIRITUAL Awakening Day for Indonesia!!!" Then we commanded all ruling spirits to topple! Great victory!

The next morning, on the public holiday of the Ascension of Jesus Christ, Suharto stepped down! Jesus declares He is above all rulers!

The two days of ministry in Semarang confirmed God's divine purpose for this city of two million people. The unity among churches is beautiful. This city remained while others in Central Java were destroyed. It was here that we gathered for two days on the first prayer-mountain in Indonesia. The goal of uniting the Body was fulfilled. This city is going to be a model for other cities. John commissioned them to move forward with reconciliation.

The meetings took place in Jakarta in a church located in an area called Kelapa Gading, population of 300,000. This area could have been called "the untouchable" during all riots. There was almost no destruction in offices, high rise building, as well as homes. We believe it's because so many of God's people live in this area. There are around 30 churches and they pray. We held an impromptu meeting for pastors in this area. More than 20 people from 12 churches came. John shared and challenged them to have pastor's prayer gatherings four times a year. Instead they quickly agreed to have them monthly! The first will be on June 1. They agreed to bless the community. We call this a 'pilot project' for Jakarta.

Last, but not least, during John's ministry time here seeds of reconciliation were planted and have begun a movement here in Indonesia. Our desire is for Indonesia to bless many nations on earth in the area of reconciliation. The office has been prepared, the mailing address is:
